Mr. Nani is a Compliance Officer with Triumph Capital Management. He is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and also received his Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
Chris began his career in the cannabis industry in 2017 during law school by writing 280E tax articles before working at Vicente Sederberg, a cannabis law firm. There, Chris learned the basics of writing successful applications and helped write winning licenses in California, Michigan, and Ohio. During law school, Chris began researching social equity in the cannabis industry. In 2018, Chris developed the Social Equity Assessment Tool (S.E.A.T.). and partnered with the Minority Cannabis Business Association to perform a case study of Los Angeles' social equity program in 2019.
After graduating law school, Chris began working at One Cannabis, a multistate operator, as their in-house counsel and application writer. At One Cannabis, Chris led the application process in Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, and West Virginia. Additionally, Chris compiled and co-authored Understanding Social Equity in 2020, a collection of critical thought pieces on social equity concepts and foundations along with twelve other authors. Chris has written cultivation, processor/manufacturing, and retail licenses for both medical and adult use markets.
At Triumph Capital Management, Chris is responsible for assisting with all compliance activities and oversight for the company. He works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure business priorities and compliance requirements are aligned.
