Award Credentials

The Five Star Wealth Manager Award does not imply a certain level of skill or training. The award is not indicative of the IAR's future performance or success.
The Five Star Wealth Manager award, administered by Crescendo Business Services, LLC (DBA Five Star Professional), and is based on ten objective criteria:

1. Credentialed as a registered investment adviser or a registered investment adviser representative.

2. Active as a credentialed professional in the financial services industry for a minimum of 5 years.

3. Favorable regulatory and complaint history review (unfavorable feedback may have been discovered through a check of complaints registered with a regulatory authority or complaints registered through Five Star Professional's consumer complaint process*).

4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards.

5. Accepting new clients.

6. One-year client retention rate.

7. Five-year client retention rate.

8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered.

9. Number of client households served.

10. Education and professional designations.

Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or awarded. Once awarded, wealth managers may purchase additional profile ad space or promotional products. The award methodology does not evaluate the quality of services provided and is not indicative of the winner's future performance. 3,008 Denver wealth managers were considered for the award; 517 (18 percent of candidates) were named Five Star Wealth Managers. 

The Five Star Wealth Management Award, administered by Crescendo Business Services, LLC
(dba Five Star Professional), identifies a percentage of wealth managers within a local region
(click here for research statistics) who satisfy objective eligibility and evaluation criteria associated with providing quality services to clients. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or awarded. Factors considered include credentialed as a registered investment adviser or an investment adviser representative, a minimum of five years of experience in the financial services industry, *favorable regulatory and complaint history review, internal firm review, acceptance of new clients, one year and five-year retention rates, non-institutional discretionary and non-discretionary client assets administered, number of client households, and education and professional designations.

A favorable regulatory and complaint history is defined by Five Star Professional to mean that the wealth manager has not: been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a license or registration being suspended or revoked, or payment of a fine had more than a total of three settled or pending customer complaints filed against them (excluding dismissed complaints) with any regulatory authority or through Five Star Professional's consumer complaint process, individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint, filed for personal bankruptcy, been convicted of a felony.

Recognition from rating services or publications is no guarantee of future investment success. Working with a Five Star Wealth Manager does not ensure that a client or prospective client will experience a higher level of performance or results. The inclusion of a wealth manager on The Five Star Wealth Manager Award list should not be construed as an endorsement of the adviser by any client, nor are they representative of any one client's evaluation.

To qualify as having a favorable regulatory and complaint history, the person cannot have:

• Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a suspended or revoked license, or payment of a fine,

• Been subject to a regulatory action that resulted in a suspended or revoked license, or payment of a fine,

• Had more than three customer complaints filed against them (settled or pending) with any regulatory authority or Five Star Professional's consumer complaint process, individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint filed with a regulatory authority,

• Filed for bankruptcy, or

• Been convicted of a felony.

The inclusion of a wealth manager in the Five Star Wealth Manager award is based in part on client response to the survey and additional criteria utilized by awarding organizations which is not necessarily representative of the experience of all clients. Awards or ratings are not indicative of the wealth manager's future performance or success.

5 Star Award Winners

The Five Star Wealth Manager Award was not presented to Triumph Capital Management. The award was presented to several Investment Advisor Representatives that are registered with Triumph Capital Management.

• Mr. Derek Eichenwald won the Five Star Wealth Manager Award in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

• Mr. Brandon Drespling won the Five Star Wealth Manager Award in 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021.

• Mr. Tim Waters won the Five Star Wealth Manager Award in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

• Mr. Gregory Schowe won the Five Star Wealth Manager Award in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

• Mr. Cory Robinson won the Five Star Wealth Manager Award in 2017.

• No other Investment Advisor Representatives of Triumph Capital Management have received the award.

Top Ranked Investment Managers and financial Planners 

The Top Ranked Investment Managers and Financial Planners, “as featured in” 5280 Magazine, Colorado Biz Magazine, and Denver Business Journal, are extensions of the Five Star Professional Award. Please see the section above titled "Five Star Wealth Manager" for important disclosures regarding this award. Inside of the various publications listed above, the publication refers to the Five Star Award recipient as a “Top Ranked Investment Manager and Financial Planners" however, this is again nothing more than a re-representation of the IAR's Five Star Manager award.

Therefore, the definition of Top Ranked Investment Managers and Financial Planners is not an additional award; it is simply the title used in by the various publications that printed the IAR's Five Star Advisor award.

Including an Investment Advisor Representative as a Top Ranked Investment Manager and Financial Planners and any publication that this award is published in is based in part on client response to the survey and additional criteria utilized by awarding organizations that are not necessarily representative of the experience of all clients. Therefore, the awards or ratings are not indicative of the wealth manager's future performance or success.
